🔌 Seven Star 220V/110V Step Down Transformer 200W with Italy Travel Adapter Plug (200-IT) Review

This transformer was terrible. Unfortunately I bought it so early that I can't return it. I have just returned from a trip in Italy and on the first day about seven minutes after I plugged in the straightener it burst and smoke came out of the transformer. Not to mention the blown fuse in the apartment. These people know exactly how to extort money from people. Ladies, do yourself a favor and buy a dual voltage rectifier. It's cheaper than this mess.

A step down transformer is a must in Italy where high drain electronic devices such as hair dryers, hair curlers, some PCs and phones etc need to be converted. We also loaned this device to a fellow traveler who needs a breathing device at night to sleep normally. We're glad we bought it from Seven Star in the US - our friend couldn't find a 200W transformer in Italy for his vital ventilator.

This transformer with adapter for Italy was perfect for our trip to Italy. The adapter needed for Italy is different from the adapter for other countries - these are round metal pins with three teeth. The adapter can be detached from the transformer, leaving a two-pin round adapter that also works directly with Italian plugs. This one might work elsewhere in Europe - I'm not sure, but it seems possible. The transformer did its job - it converted the European voltage of 220 V and 50 Hz to the US
