Description of SGT KNOTS Dacron Polyester Solid Sports & Fitness

Solid Braid Dacron Polyester: Lightweight and long-lasting, this polyester rope perfect for both indoor and outdoor applications such as marine use, towing lines, home projects, or camping. The Poly Dacron strands form a smooth solid braid that can handle heavy-duty use without sag or degradation. Synthetic Resistance: Compared with natural ropes, Dacron Polyester cord fibers feature enhanced resistance to moisture, UV rays, chemicals, oils and weather conditions. Synthetic threads are 100% rot proof, making this ideal for marine/nautical use: boating, fishing, mooring lines, anchor lines, and more. Reusability: Our Dacron Polyester rope is low-stretch with excellent knot retention, so you can tie, untie, and tie again with no loss in quality. The durable fibers prevent abrasions, distortions, and stretching, keeping this rope performance-ready for your next project. Availability: Choose between pre-cut lengths of 50ft, 100ft, 250ft, or 500ft with diameter options of 1/8 inch, 5/32 inch, 3/16 inch, 1/4 inch, 5/16 inch, or 3/8 inch. Choose from Black or White. Excellent quality cord, easy to work with and use

Excellent quality cord. I have a 250 foot black 3/16 inch spool. It is flexible, soft, easy to handle, holds knots very well and makes an excellent all-purpose cord in the home, shop and garden. I also took some to work to use for temporary jobs if things go wrong. Very happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Vulgarity

I like the design of the rope

I stretched a vertical HF radio antenna with it, thinking about the wind load. I like the construction of the rope, it's very stiff, flexible and difficult to cut. Melting the cut ends was difficult because the rope has some fire resistance (heat resistance), which is good for the southern sun. I would buy a smaller diameter next time, now I think maybe the weight of the glaze bothers me.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Some little things

Big rope for the antenna.

I am a radio amateur and use this UV resistant, rot resistant rope to tie down portable antennas when working in the field. Everything but the Dacron rope will be damaged by the sun. Other types of synthetic rope I've used have worn to the point of failure in less than a year. This is what you need for amateur radio antenna extensions. Sgt. The Knotts line I bought here at Revain is a lot cheaper than the Dacron line bought at ham radio stores. I will buy her again if she ever needs a…

High Strength Boating

I use 1/8 inch twine to secure the tarp over the firewood. I've been using the same cords for several years and they're still in great condition, so they will definitely stand up to the elements. As the firewood pile gets smaller over the winter, I have to re-knot the cords to shorten them, and the cords never unravel by itself, easy to solve. I use 3/8" cord for the outerwear drying line (energy saving and nice smell when drying outside). Again, the cord has been used for years and stays fine.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Not all will fit

what i needed best for rowing and sailing

I have had a garden for many years. grow beans. This year I had to rearrange my trellis. Walked 2 feet. higher this time. A rope of the right gauge was needed that would be easy to lower, tie, and withstand the weather. I bought a 1/8" × 250ft spool. So far I've been happy. I won't know how it handles UV and UV rays until fall 2021. The beanstalks will cover most of the rope, it should so its not a problem.I have used POLY yarn before and have had to re-tie the rope every year! Please note that…

Good product. but you must be careful when tying knots.

This is an excellent quality 1/4" rope, delivered quickly and complete as described. I ordered polyester as it was meant to be outside and in the sun - polyester is more resistant to UV -Radiant than Nylon .The reason I didn't give this product a "5" is that it doesn't hold knots very well.I couldn't connect two pieces of this rope with a square knot - I just slipped out of this one Use rope satisfactorily Again the rope appears to be of excellent quality I was just a bit disappointed with the…

Extremely strong and very high quality Dacron rope.

I recently bought this Dacron rope in three sizes. 1/4”, 5/16” and 3/8”. This is one of the best Dacron ropes I've ever bought. Holds knots very well and is easy to tie. I've been using Dacron ropes of various sizes for a number of years. It holds up well in the scorching Texas sun where I live and has exceeded my expectations. I am currently using 5/16 inch rope for the main support line of a hammock stand I built. I weigh 225 pounds. So I needed a small but strong rope that I felt would…

BIG VERSION! BLACK RESISTANCE OF STRONG UV HAWAIIAN OUTDOORS

I learned how to tie knots at SeaBees from my stepfather, who was a naval corporal during WWII. He gave me his Blue Jacket Manual at the age of 9 and I read and studied it for a year. Then I was with Cub Scouts and learned a few knots—he taught me how to tie everything from bowline to sheepskin and how to splice rope properly. outside the ground with long #3 rebars driven into the ground. I wanted a stiff, strong cord that would hook onto the rebar, run through the top of the milk crate, and…

Seems great value for money

My wife and I cruise the California coast in our sailboat. I bought 100 feet of 3/16 inch line to use on board mainly to make proper reef hooks for our new mainsail. Reef tags are short pieces of fishing line attached to the sail by grommets. a reefed (shortened) sail to boom if the sail reefs in strong winds. Reef hangers spend most of their lives flying, batting the sail and doing nothing. until the wind is blowing properly and the sail is reefed, then the reef hangers should be easy to tie…
