Shangyuan Navigation Lights Marine Starboard Review

Green works great. Waterproof, fully sealed and bright enough. However, the red didn't work at all. Upon purchase I tested both on my battery which is 12.6 volts (tested previously) and the green light came on but my red did not. I then installed them in the hope that a wire might have come loose, but even with a tested 12.6 at a red light I still had no light. The red was out of order, defeating the purpose of my navigational safety lights.

These lamps are brilliant and hard to beat for the price. However, be prepared that depending on the application, the installation is no fun. I bought them for my kayak. The wire is only 8 inches long so you don't have to play with it much. I didn't want to drill a big hole which meant I had to splice the joints on the inside after running the lines through. It was a horrible experience doing it with only an 8 inch lead. If you have more space to work, then you should be fine. They look well…

Weak wires, weak reinforcement at connection to board. They come folded in a box and when unfolded they are subjected to so much stress that they break. I bought other LEDs from another supplier and they came with a silicone bead at the base of the wires to reinforce this weak point and make them strong enough to use. The product is fine, but be prepared to have to reinforce it with silicone and be prepared for some of it to break. We're kind of hostage to the cheap stuff they sell. The choice…
