In 2013 I paid $130 for this sharpener. When it works, it's very fast (and quite noisy) and works great with pencils of all shapes and sizes. As far as I know, if this is possible for crayons, it will void the warranty. Also when used to sharpen pencils with a decorative plastic foil, the foil will clog the cutter blades and you will need to remove the sheath to gain access for cleaning.
