Description of ๐Ÿ”ช 6-inch Ceramic Nakiri Knife (Vegetable Cleaver) by Shenzhen Knivesโ€ฆ

6-inch ceramic cleaver (nakiri knife). Tapered rectangular shaped blade, with larger size and heft, makes it suitable for heavy duty chopping and dicing of fruits and vegetables. Stay sharper longer: Harder than steel, and will hold edge longer than a steel blade. Lightweight, will not rust and is easy to clean: Resistant to acids and oils. DO NOT chop on hard surface, only use a wooden chopping board.

Good luck sharpening those knives.

Despite what you read in the reviews, these knives dull quickly. I hardly used these knives as I have them in my RV. The big knife is so blunt that it's difficult to cut paper, it's of little use. If they were steel knives, I would have sharpened them by now. But no, they are ceramic and you need special diamond grinding wheels to sharpen them. Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Very sharp. But ceramic knives make a lot of noise. If I treated my steel knives with the same care and delicacy that I treat my ceramic knives, they would remain just as sharp. With steel knives - I cut the bones, throw them into the sink from above, or with other steel knives, forks, put them in the dishwasher. Ceramic knife - I've been told to cut carefully, no dishwasher can throw it down the sink, wash your hands, handle with care like a child, do not cut bones or heavy objects to cutโ€ฆ

Disappointment in chef knives

Disappointment because I bought almost the same 6 inch chef knife (same brand) that came in this set a year and a half ago and loved it. Being my first ceramic knife, I couldn't believe how sharp it was and loved cutting up veggies for salads and stir-fries. No brown edges on cut lettuce - a bonus! Lately it seemed like the original knife wasn't. Now that I've switched to a ceramic knife, I've thought about getting a diamond knife sharpener and instead went for this 3 piece set, my old knife at
