They work just like any other furniture glides you've used in the past. However, adding an extra screw mount can make them more permanent, which is sometimes required. I'm currently using them on a 100lb subwoofer and a large heavy coffee table. I no longer have to search for the "one" that slipped while moving one of those heavy objects.

I bought these for my heavy coffee table to make it easier to move it over the carpet when I needed more floor space and they worked great. I can't speak to the strength of their adhesive part because I drilled a hole and screwed them on. I prefer this option because it intuitively feels more durable, but I can easily take it off in the future if I want to.

I recently made a footstool and wanted to put some sliders on it. I was looking at the small round ones first when I came across these. My stool legs are square, about 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". The shape and size of these planks could not be more perfect. The glue worked well to place them and hold them while screwing them in. I wouldn't rely solely on glue to hold them in place. Be sure to use the supplied screws.

If you want to raise the bottom of your wooden chairs to make them easier to move on the carpet, this is not the product for you. No way! Assembly on real wood chairs was tricky and the legs had to be pre-drilled so larger screws could be put in. (I haven't even tried using sticky pads). They don't work as advertised.
