I bought this bag to replace Sherpa Jazzy who is 17 years old. I really like jazz more because it's lighter and softer. I will be returning this item as it feels stiff and heavy. And the handles are short. Unfortunately Jazz is out of production.

This is a fantastic backpack for dogs. The straps must be threaded through the clips to carry it on your back. This is the highest quality backpack I've seen and it's a lot better than the one we bought from another manufacturer for hiking use a few years ago. We bought this for use on the plane but since the top is curved it was too short to allow our pup (mini dachshund) to roll over as required by the Transportation Security Administration.

Very useful as a backpack. I used it for air travel in America. A lot of people didn't even know my dog was there, which was great. The only thing I could wish for about this bag is the way it converts from a backpack to a carry-on. You must remove both straps and then reattach one. I wish there was just an extra strap to make this process easier. Otherwise I can recommend this dog carrier unreservedly.

Just made a round trip with my dog. Two flights of 2 hours and 2 flights of 8.5 hours. My dog is a 10 lb poodle mix. That would be the limit. If your pet is larger, I do not recommend this product. I wish the inner lining was of better quality, but that's something I can easily improve on.
