Correct and easy, a real improvement.

Perfect fit, easy assembly, HOLY SMOKE, the difference to my old brakes is amazing! Can lock the rear wheel with little effort and still brakes in a controlled manner. I really had to use my old brakes to get a good grip. I've never installed bike brakes before, but I've fiddled with the old ones so much that I got it right. It was easy. The brakes have strong return springs and set screws to keep them from rubbing on the wheel. The pad setting is simple and well done. I like fixing an old…

Great brake swap. Transform your old bike!

I took a chance on buying these to replace my older and cheaper Shimano rear brakes which were slow to slow me down as some of the plastic components were cracked. There were no instructions for them, but I found out. They are very well made and durable. I had to install a new, longer cable, but it turned out to be easy. Pros
  • Efficient design with little effort
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Good V-brakes but really need some weird Shimano mounting bolts.

Most may not realize that these V-Brakes (ALL Shimano V-Brakes) are designed to accept cleats with a shorter arm than usual. Replacing with other brand V-brakes will technically work, however the spring end will not fully fit into the boss and may fail later (especially the alloy boss). You can find shorter shoulder cleats or change your cleats, but you'll still need to replace them. come on shimano Add at least two bolts that will work with your brakes. Aside from being a nuisance, cleats also

Excellent and easy to use.

All accessories included. The brake pads were very easy to fit, mount and tighten. I like the long brake pads as the lever makes it easy to prevent unwanted spinning when finally tightening. The brakes were easy to install, adjust and use. They worked great and didn't creak at all. The spring tension screws (and my lever barrel adjuster) quickly centered the levers for smooth and quiet action. Shimano brakes are vastly superior to non-adjustable ones and it's impossible to center the no-name…

  • Designed for smooth and quiet braking

  • Good but not great
