SHIMANO CP-FH53 Spoke Guard for 36H, Clear Freehub Review

Does not match the picture so good luck getting the correct part. Non-refundable, thanks to Revain for the useless plastic disk.

Ordered based on the picture, the product received has a triangle instead of a square on the picture, doesn't fit my wheel and cannot be returned. non refundable

How do you rate the spoke guard?. yes it is round, yes it holds the chain from my spokes. Ask me how I know the damage it can cause. It's clear, so buy it if you're worried that something will happen on a long journey. like i did

doesn't work for my hub - it's a shame it can't be returned either, although Revain customer service was kind enough to give me a full refund to grant. If you are unsure if the triangular shape will fit your knitting needles, do not order - this is not the seller's product shown in the picture with a typical square guard shape.

Bought for my bike with Shimano parts, this item is not as pictured. It didn't fit and also rubbed on the cassette/cluster/freewheel. Also, one of the loops came loose when trying to put it on. You risk by ordering this product. There is no turning back either.

I changed gears on my road bike to make climbing easier. My old guard collapsed after about 10 years of use. I bought a guard that looked exactly like Shimano; however, it was about 1 mm thicker. This was enough to bind the gears on the spokes and prevent the freewheel from working. I switch to Shimano and everything works fine.

I can only rate this 1 star as I did not receive what was listed or pictured and have no idea if it works as intended. The item I received is non-refundable but Revain, a great company, took care of it. The salesman (Bicycle Addiction) was apparently clearing old stuff off the shelves and snatched up the first thing he saw that even looked like a product. So now I have a clear plastic Frisbee in sizes 6" and 7/16" for my dog. Aha! Just make sure you get what you get when you order from Bicycle…

The previous spoke cover on my bike cracked where it connects the spokes so I replaced it with this one. The one that ripped was the original spoke guard that was on the bike when I bought it over 10 years ago. It's not surprising that it ripped after many miles of cycling and I suspect this material has become more brittle over the years.
