Really good brakes suitable for cycling and daily commuting

These brakes are reliable, good value and good for cycling and daily driving and the brakes have been bled with mineral oil in the original packaging. So far I've been happy with these brakes and have recommended them to friends.

Great feel and stopping power.

They breathed new life into my 12 year old full suspension bike, which was in perfect condition except for the brakes (the hoses were becoming brittle and the internal seals were worn). Now it stops better than my new upscale bike with dual piston brakes.

That does not work. Malfunction. Used robbery.

After I sent this rear brake in time for replacement, it makes loud noise, the brake pads are dirty, like other reviews. Even the oil on the box. It's really disappointing that it's coming back. Very very disappointed. Disappointed with this product. I updated it to improve it, so what, guest? Dirty liquid came out. Serious.

Cons
  • Big and bulky

Pistons leaking again

I'm sure they sell a lot of Shimano brakes here that have defective pistons from the start. then to bed and they work great but the next time you leave the bike the brake squeaks around town and also a loss of power. The best thing I've found to prevent this is to store the bike with brake pads on. Love well working Shimano brakes but beware there seems to be a lot of people having this problem.

Best Deal on Brake Parts

I love these brakes. Put them on my e-bike. It came with a Shimano MT-200 (I think that's the model number). But 4-piston brakes are good, they act like two sets of brakes in one. Pull the lever a little and they pull the rotor until you pull the lever harder then they stop you in a jiffy, they're two stage. Top quality, just what they should have put on my e-bike to start with as it's a lot heavier. Worth every penny for both front and rear brakes. (Upgrade for $300). Not bad.

Poor Quality Control

All 4 pistons started to leak on 2nd or 1st ride. Their leaks are just enough to get on the rotor, creating noise and significantly reducing braking performance. Unfortunately, I could never judge whether the brakes were strong. Shimano know they have a leaking piston issue on a percentage of their brakes and they have yet to fix the issue even in 2020. VERY IMPORTANT: Shimano does not guarantee the purchase of Revain. Shimano only provides a guarantee if it was purchased from one of its…
