If you want to stop!

If you want to stop, you have to stop. This is a rotor for sale. I strongly recommend this to owners of wheels with disc brakes. Shimano, go right

Pros
  • Bike Brakes and Parts
Cons
  • Empty

Poor cycling durability

Braking is effective, but the brake discs seem to warp very easily after a short period of time (several months), causing significant brake wear. It's gotten to the point where you can rest assured that after 3/4 of a 3 hour ride you will have severe brake wear.

Pros
  • Cycling
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Still my favorite rotor

My bike came with XTR rotors but I find these D/A rotors run much cooler and I like the look of them. On average, I get about 6,000 miles front and rear from each rotor, with rides that are about 750 feet up/down every ten miles.

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • Protection

Bought these to replace whining rotors on my road bike. With SRAM E-Tap hydraulic brakes, I got the 6-bolt rotors as a set and mounted them to the center-lock wheels with Shimano adapters. After seeing the brakes howling a bit, my friend suggested trying Shimano rotors. Problem solved. I'm not sure if the howling was from the SRAM rotor or from using a 6-bolt adapter, but these Shimano rotors are much quieter and brake at least as well, if not better. Fully compatible with SRAM BTW brakesโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Parts and components
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

This is the first Shimano Ice Tech rotor designed specifically for road bikes, although there is now a significantly cheaper Ultegra R8000 rotor https://smile.amazon.com/Shimano-Ultegra-R8000-Disc-Rotor/dp/B071G6DVQY /ref=sr_1_1 too. In addition to large, smooth black cooling fins, this road rotor has smaller slots in the braking zone, giving it more surface area and being smoother than XTR SM-RT99 mountain bike rotors https://smile.amazon.com/Shimano. -SM-RT99-CenterLock-Rotor-160mm/dp/B00HCGN5โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Rotors
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
