When you need it, you need it. Same as lever Ultegra 6800. Easy to install. I'm not sure if they still make them. So if you need them, get them while you can. Should also work with same generation levers of 105, Tiagra etc.

I have a Shimano 105 11 speed shifter (ST-5800) and haven't considered it as an option. It turns out that the hood for Ultegra (ST-6800) is also suitable for the 105. The box says it right. See the image I've attached. The pullers work great. I don't know why people needed soap or hand sanitizer. I can install without these things. I just tugged a little on one side and then a little on the other side until it snapped into place.

These are genuine Shimano hoods as described. The application process was quite easy. As a tip to make it easier to put on without stretching, I would suggest pouring some hand sanitizer down the grips before pulling them over the levers. They fit my Ultegra 6800 levers perfectly. It took a bit of fiddling to install them. They're nice and snug compared to my old hoods which were messy and curled up at the most inopportune moments, like putting the hoods on while climbing or running.
