This is my first time using a contactless pedal and I couldn't be happier

I bought these pedals for my road bike. I've never used clipless pedals and I've heard that clipless mountain bike pedals are easier to get on and off than road bike pedals. Even if you ever need to go for a walk in cycling shoes, it is easier to do so in mountain bike shoes than in road cycling shoes. I reduced the tension on the pedals and had no problems with the pedals. The quality is excellent and they seem like they should last a long time.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons

A must for bikers!

If you drive without them, stop and get them immediately! You're doing yourself a huge favor. By switching to these clip-on pedals, I've almost doubled the distance! It really makes pedaling more efficient, even if you don't realize it. The default release pressure works great for me, but can be adjusted if needed. I like this particular model because it has a large platform that allows me to pedal in regular tennis shoes when I'm cycling around campus and don't want to wear cycling shoes. The…

good but not great - Sport

I bought these to replace some racquets I was having trouble with. I have had SPDs, 737s and 747s from a few years ago and they have been excellent in dry conditions. These new 520s handle mud a little better, and the simpler design is probably good for reliability, but I'm not happy with the click performance. I am using new, properly installed Shimano cleats and am having trouble getting in and out. They take more force to get in and out than the old SPD, not much different than the…

Pros
  • Great for a small home

  • Crumpled

Perfect for new clippers

I have read and looked at several reviews. This pedal system comes highly recommended for good reason. Being able to cut on both sides is very important for a beginner like me. Adjustment is easy, just make sure you adjust both sides of each pedal. Find a safe place and practice. I fell twice in my garage within the first few minutes. Kissing the cement floor gave them all the respect I would ever need. Since then I have been very aware that I was being circumcised. My left foot is my pivot…

The ideal pedal for mountain bike beginners and riders.

I am returning to MTB and received these to replace an outdated Shimano XT PD-M747 pedal set. I was worried they wouldn't be as good as my old ones but I have to say I don't see any difference. The 50g weight difference is imperceptible, they spin very smoothly even after 100 seconds, switching on and off is very smooth, and they look almost the same as the 747s. I guess his technology seeps into action. I've used Shimano's full range of SPD products and they're as good as any and great for a…

The best pedals for beginners!

I bought these pedals because I figured that the first time I sat down I would 100% fall and crack my skull in half. But it clearly hasn't happened (YET), but it will, and that's okay. Anyway, let me tell you something to back up my review. I've started out with regular flat pedals on just about every bike I've sat on for YEARS, but I've never felt as efficient as crank rotation itself. I then tried straps on flat pedals, but the straps were a very good option for me , as I have a very wide…
