Great pedals for the price!

Shimano, the name says it all. I've had the SPD 6800, they are very similar except the 8000 is lighter, thinner and at 4mm better aligns my knees to give more power to my cranks! The wide platform is great and seems a little wider than the 6800, although that's more of an illusion than fact. You can't go wrong with this latest iteration of an excellent pedal set!

  • Pedals and cleats

  • Big and bulky

Upgraded from Shimano 105

No problem from seller. And came with 2 pairs of pedals. I've had Shimano 105 pedals for over 5 years and rolled them into the floor so this was a nice upgrade. I've used these new pedals a few times, but they're lighter than the 105 pedals and farther from the crankshaft so the sides of my shoe don't rub against the crankshaft, which happens from time to time. I use blue pedals. and yellow SPD pedals and so far I haven't had any problems.

They're almost identical to the 105 series aside from slightly less weight, but the 4mm longer axle makes them worth the price as you can only get these in Ultegra and up. The installer added 1mm shims to my old 105 but they started biting the crank after a short while and making an impression so this is not an upgrade solution. My only gripe is the…
