SHIMANO XT SM RT86 Rotor 6 Bolt Review

I tend to have the best rotors you can get, period! I installed this rotor into a Tektro hydraulic system and put a new set of Tektro pads on it. I bought two of these to replace the stock/OEM rotors on my Nishiki MTB and was very impressed. My first real ride was on the moderate six-mile trail; Since I ended up using the rear brake more, it was easy to spot the dip from the front. There's a big noticeable difference, as there's a lot more "bite" when needed, without sacrificing good modulation width. Complete Shimano Deore/SLX/XT kits are only $60-90 front or rear, and these Ice Tech rotors are $40 each. So if you don't have a caliper of this level, why not just buy a better caliper and settle for 160mm? Of course you could.
