Restored my expensive knives

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this stone works. I had almost given up sharpening my own knives, but I was given this stone as a last resort to keep my pride alive. Obviously a good stone makes all the difference and now my favorite kitchen knives are back.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Useless features

works well you need to work on your skills with

easy to use. Once I get more practice my knives will be in great shape. Took this on 2 of my kitchen/chef knives. They are sharp but uneven across the blade due to my beginner skill or lack thereof. Quite an interesting and oddly Zen-like sharpening process.

Pros
  • dream come true
Cons
  • fragile

SUPERIOR QUALITY, DURABILITY - YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

I have had the stone since 2018 and am happy with it. could make blunt and chipped knives sharp again. This is definitely an expensive whetstone/wet stone. I have not used any other less expensive stones; but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't do as well.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Neutral

Very Effective Best Knife Sharpener

This is my first and only sharpening stone and I love it. I took a course on how to properly use a whetstone to sharpen a knife (rouxbe online cooking school) and it gets the job done effectively. I'm sure some people want something with a higher grit to get a more polished shine, but this sharpening stone allows me to get a super sharp edge on my knives. To test the edge, I was taught how to cut the sheet. paper without tearing it. When I bought the whetstone, I recently got a Wüsthof for my…

If I can only own one stone, that's my choice.

I've had two of these and they are great for sharpening kitchen knives. Not everyone in my family takes very good care of our kitchen knives so the edges always get tangled. My goal is not to achieve a perfect mirror edge. This is a 300/1000 stone, which is enough for me to carve out scratches from people throwing my knives in the dishwasher along with my cutlery, and then give them a fairly sharp edge to cut through vegetables and other foods with ease. I have the time or desire to polish my…

Very simple and effective

I don't have a thousand dollar knife set but I love to cook and all my knives were pretty dull. We have tried a few "sharpening systems" with no satisfactory result. I remembered watching vintage cars sharpening their pocket knives with stone as a little girl, so I searched a bit and found this one. It arrived quickly and well packaged. The instructions are clear enough but clearly translated by someone whose first language is not English. My husband spent about 1 hour and all my knives were…

NO MORE BEVELING KNIVES!

This whetstone was amazing. Over the past few years I've owned nothing but Shun knives and have continued to add to my collection. Other than sharpening, I didn't have anything to help me take care of my blades. I have a classic 6 1/2" Nakiri and I don't know how it happened, but this knife looked like it had been hit with something. It was still very sharp and I only sharpened the steel to save keeping it sharp and straight but there were huge shavings in it.I started avoiding it because I…
