Description of Shurtape ShurMASTIC Outdoor 181B FX 111163

Indoor/outdoor mastic foil HVAC tape - 17 mils and 23.8 pounds per square inch tensile strength. UL 181B-FX Listed - clearly printed on the tape for quick identification. Linered with service temperature range from -20 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Contains no asbestos, CFCs or PCBs. Instant, water-resistant grip to most surfaces for airtight and moisture-free sealing. Paintable with paint recommended for aluminum.

Excellent material, works as intended

It's a little more expensive than a tube of mastic but a lot easier than paint on mastic and no mess. This simplifies the sealing of the ducts for the caretaker. (Pun)

Great Tapes

This is just a great tape for AC and sheet metal work. I'm not sure about some of the low ratings. This is an expensive but excellent band. It does not loosen up over time, especially when cold air is turned on.

Expensive but works

I needed some tape for an outdoor unit. After 2 years the sun damaged the tape there. I saw and tried this product on Revain. Works as expected, albeit a bit pricey. Maybe I didn't need that much, but I wasn't sure

The tape is very effective, professional quality

My house is 40 years old and metal pipes are leaking under the house. Decided to start repairing. Someone used regular duct tape in the installation many years ago and it all fell apart. I purchased Shurtape SF 686 UL water-based sewer sealant and butyl foil tape for $39.99. Looks expensive, but I don't want to crawl under the house again because of leaking air ducts.
