The perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

Has pros: Working F1.8-2.0. Fantastic resolution at F2.0-4.0. Beautiful bokeh. Has some cons Noticeable coma at F1.4-2.0. Weight almost 1 kg. There is no way to install a filter (but this is a feature of the wide-angle lens)

Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good purchase.

Definitely recommend to those who want a high-quality picture width. Its pros: I bought the lens a few days ago, already managed to test it at minus 25) Megagun glass ! In the store I used it and my own Nikon 20 / 1,8 . Nikon makes a depressing impression of an unreliable Chinese toy. I confirm everything that was said in the reviews and reviews regarding this sigma, the picture, sharpness, low distortion, which is easily corrected with one click in the equal camera. Different cons: At the…

I have a defective lens.

I bought this lens for a comet event then a virus happened and I just had to try it. It has soft marks on the ends even with a 4 second shot! It's hard to focus on and not keep the focus. I'll update this review after ordering another one and see if it's as good as others say. Mine was definitely defective, believe me it was off center.

Pros
  • Great for a small home

Simply a stellar lens

This is a stellar lens, better than the Canon 24L f1.4 I had before and several times better than the Nikon 20 f1.8 without 2/ Counting 3 at all Stops the Sigma Advantage. Also very sharp at the edges, with little vignetting and very good distortion limitation. Cameralove.org has a good comparison report on this lens with lots of sample photos, very educational. I can't be happier with my purchase.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Can't remember

Fast lens (e.g. large aperture)

Some of my best work was done with a Sigma lens on a Canon Elan in the 90's. Now let's look at my 5D mkll, what can I do. So far I'm very satisfied, but time will tell. The focus isn't the best, but it suits me. I tend to take my time with exposure and composition and still think like a film photographer, which I still do. With Digital you can rush and rock. People slow down, stop and admire the beauty around you and what kind of photo you can create

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Difficult to say

fast and well built but too much coma

Milky way to work with my Canon full frame camera. I liked the large aperture (f/1.4) and the build quality seemed very good. However, I wasn't too happy with the coma distortion in the corners, which made the stars look like little flying saucers. In the end I decided it wasn't what I needed and sent it back. I took a Tamron 15-30 f/2.8. The Tamron isn't as fast, but the scaling capabilities have made it more versatile, and less distortion has made it more useful for Astroimo.

  • happy so far

Rest in peace with my lenses 20 1.4 in camera

I have had my Sigma 20 1.4 for about 2 years now and it has brought me a lot of value. However, the mount that attaches the lens to the camera is now removed and the lens becomes unusable. Now it won't focus (it already missed most of the time). After about two years of minimal use, I didn't expect the lens to fall apart. I suspect it's due to how heavy the end of the lens is compared to the part that attaches to your camera body. Will I invest in Sigma again? Probably no. My L lenses never had

Amazing landscape lens

I originally had a Sigma 15-30 and sent it in for service and was offered several replacement options as it was past its useful life but none of them seemed attractive to me. I managed to get Sigma to offer me a kind of 20mm f/1.4 lens as an upgrade at a fantastic price, so I took it. I had the lens for about a month and took it on a trip to Banff and Jasper. In Canada. I dropped my Sigma 24-105 f/4 Art lens and smashed it so I had to shoot at 20mm and I have to say I'm very happy with the…

Excellent fast lens for photography and photography

Bought this lens right after the holidays and had the opportunity to use it at a wedding and around the house and to do some astrophotography tests. The copy I received required a micro focus setting (-13 Reikan FoCal). Since then, the focus has been dead. F/1.4 is easy to work with, although the depth of field is, as expected, very shallow. In the photos of my daughter, a hair fell on her face. Autofocus caught individual hairs, but the rest of her face (about 0.5 inches behind the hairs) was…

Cons

This is an excellent lens.

This review is based on my first use of Milky Way photography, but I usually go back and edit my reviews for the long haul. This lens has it all - a good wide angle, f/1.4, excellent sharpness, autofocus. After the first application I am absolutely satisfied. My only complaint is a little stellar coma in the corners, but you'd be hard pressed to find any lens that didn't show some form of corneal coma, so I'm not deducting a star for that. Vignetting is quite significant, but then again the…

A revolution in astrophotography

Night/astrophotography's dream! While nothing is perfect with what's available, this is by far the best lens for it. NO noticeable comma even at full aperture, f-1.4. Only at 100% magnification can you see small streaks at the edges, but when you show your photos, the viewer cannot see them. The combination of a wide-angle shot with a wide open aperture is absolutely unique and reduces the workload for astrophotographers. Usually you do panoramas for the milky way and then separate panoramas…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet

Matches the description completely, very satisfied.

I also previously had a Sigma art 35 1.4 decided to take 20 ku. So, after buying, I immediately gave it to the service center for auto focus calibration. 1.4 not working! Too little sharpness! If you shoot at point-blank range, it can hit. If you shoot a video, then there is no noticeable loss of sharpness. I myself shoot more often at 1.6 and 1.8 with the best apertures with beautiful bokeh and excellent sharpness. The picture looks rich at 2.8 sharpness will not increase, only the backdrop…

Pros
  • cutting fast aperture beautiful bokeh beautiful geometry fast auto focus
Cons
  • Heavy lens, no protective filter, auto focus calibration in the service center, 1.4 not working soft or soapy.
