Not quite in the same league as the kind 35mm and 50mm lenses. No worse than the iconic Canon 24mm, though. I am a professional photographer and I demand the best, I will not be disappointed. Focusing isn't the fastest, especially at full range. Another point: creamy bokeh is a pleasure. The first photo taken by the camera is attached, it gives an idea of the bokeh. This lens amazes me every time I use it. I won't go into the technical stuff but every time I put this on my camera (Nikon D750) after using Nikon lenses I still have to double check once the focus is locked. It's SO FAST! Faster than any of my Nikon lenses. It's very sharp and so good for wide angle shots when I'm shooting weddings. If you're vacillating between 24-70 and just this Prime, go for Prime! You will not regret it!

Only for those who want a wide angle prime lens for astro or night sky photography. I only bought this lens a few weeks ago and have used it on my Canon 6D primarily for star photography.
