It works until it works.

win 10 works It worked, then stopped working until I restarted the computer. First, I installed the card using the mini-disk that came with it. It worked, it didn't work anymore. I removed the device and restarted. I then went to the vendor's website and downloaded and installed the Win 10 driver hoping it would give better results. It didn't happen and I had the same "worked when it wants" unless you restart your computer. Normally I would give something like ONE star but I received the card…

  • Absolutely amazing!

lovely product just wish it was available with a low profile mount

I ordered this for use on a customer's computer who uses some very old older printers and software. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a low-profile mount. It became my second choice for an adapter board due to the lack of a low-profile bracket. I ended up ordering this adapter card because my first 'competitor' option didn't work a few days after installation. Luckily, competitor mounts fit this card perfectly. I had no trouble installing and configuring this card. Best of all, my…

The board was built wrong, almost works, but all baud rates are wrong.

This thing has been driving me insane for a week. (Yes, I spent too much time debugging it) The board transmits and receives normally on the TOWN (loopback), but after much research (O-Scope and logic analyzer) it turned out that all baud rates are from this board were wrong. I finally found a datasheet for the chip used on this board (MCS9900CV) and it turned out that the chip was WAITING for a 30MHz crystal to clock the serial port. (see data sheet page 38) My board was built with 25 MHz…

Won't work with Mach 3

I needed a parallel port for my windows computer to communicate with the Mach 3 software but that won't work, seems to be a frequency synchronization issue. Windows recognizes the card and assigns a crazy interrupt instead of the usual 03F8, and there doesn't seem to be a way to change that. Okay Mach 3 can tell what the new interrupt is and in the end I think I saw the map. But so far it doesn't detect any signals coming from the card. My guess is that the cards' operating clock speed isn't…

  • So far everything seems

Installs and works with standard Windows 10 drivers

It just worked, plain and simple. I installed it, started the computer and Windows 10 recognized it and installed it with no hassle. I didn't have to download or install any drivers. This was used to connect a datamax label printer that only had a parallel port - to a new machine that did not have a parallel port. By the way, the key that was needed for the printer to work with the installed software was recognized by the card and also worked perfectly. Highly recommend rather than messing…

Great PCIe card to support older printers

We previously bought two of these cards so that we could continue using our older but very capable HP Laserjet printers when we upgrade to newer computers . They didn't have the old-style printer ports. They work great and it was very economical, much cheaper than buying new laser printers. So I just bought another one to use with the third PC I recently bought. I am very glad that these parallel printer cards are still available. Highly recommended.

  • Hands-free operation

  • Not bad, but...
