Great drive and brand to last

I've had this 2TB shockproof unit since September 2018 and it still works reliably. I don't use it very often, but mostly for the occasional backup of my work computer. I'm not picky about devices but this is an excellent device, durable, reliable and portable. I have purchased 5 Silicone Power (SP) drives of various sizes and protection levels that I use frequently and I can say that the Silicone Power Rugged drive series is my choice for high-performance drives when I am traveling or when I…

Doesn't work properly.

I've had my hard drive for two days now. It was easy to use, just plug and play. At least I hoped so. But since it didn't come with a proper manual, I know exactly how to find out. The "Manual” preinstalled on the hard drive is not suitable even for this model. But that's not the worst. Hard just turns itself off spontaneously. I can't even get it to stream a single 1GB movie without turning it off. It has a red indicator light that literally blinks more than a bad Wi-Fi connection. When I…

Why trust your files to the cloud when you can use them instead?

Silicon Power wins my vote for the best digital storage solution on the market! This is the second block I have received. The first one I bought for travel a few years ago was 1TB. As an underwater photographer, I have to empty my memory cards for every dive. I use this device to upload image files to my laptop and then to the SP drive. So I have two copies, one on my computer that I can edit and the other as a backup on this solid state drive. Even if my laptop gets stolen (God forbid) I don't

Great value if you don't need high read/write speeds

This is one of my best purchases. I bought this for my wife's MacBook Air for the meager 128GB which made it easy to use straight away. What was a nice surprise is that I can use this with my iPad Pro 2020 as well. It took a good minute or two for the files app to see it, but it worked and could read and write to files. The speed is not very fast, but I also don't use large capacity files like 8k files, but it can transfer 1080p and short 4K videos pretty fast (maybe due to HEIC on iOS). For…

Tried 2 different drives, bot didn't work, disappointed

This hard drive worked fine for me for the first few months. Then it stopped. I plugged it in and it appeared on my Mac's desktop, but nothing happened when I opened it. I contacted customer service and they asked me to send it to them. I did and they said I had a bad drive and they would replace it. So they did. Then I got a second one and it didn't work from the start (see video). When I click to do something with it, it just "runs" forever and nothing happens. I contacted support again and…
