Not a quarter turn, not my first choice

Was expecting a modern ceramic quarter turn valve or brass ball valve. This is a traditional valve. It never occurred to me that they still make these things in this form factor. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't mind turning the knob a lot. For the money I spent on it I wouldn't buy it again. I would buy a quarter turn valve elsewhere, but I didn't get it right until it was installed, so I'll use it until it fails, if it ever fails at all.

Pros
  • Chrome plated brass body
Cons
  • Compatibility

You will need a very strong grip

Although I just installed a faucet over the summer I can't say for sure it WILL NOT freeze. What I can tell you is that the faucet is very difficult to turn. You need to wrap it with a rag and turn it on and off with both hands. I had my whole house reconnected with Pex and Shark Bite connectors. I am very satisfied with Pex products. Very easy to install and repair. I don't know if I have a faulty faucet (hence the difficulty turning it on and off) or if they are all like that.

Pros
  • Frost Resistant Silicone Pipe That Won't Freeze
Cons
  • Modern

I was wrong TWICE with the 12 " version!

I ordered an 8" and a 12" PEX Midline valve. The 8" was ok but the 12 " was mislabeled. The sticker says "PEX" but the tag inside the bag clearly says "MIP/SWT". I issued a refund and found the wrong item was sent to me and received it two days later I got a replacement that was ALSO wrong. Exactly the same problem. So if you order the cheaper 12" model, be aware that you may get a weld connector and not a PEX connector, which is the purpose of ordering a PEX model nullifies.

Pros
  • Large plastic valve for easy turning
Cons
  • So-so

Much longer than 4 inches: pipe fittings

The picture they show with measurements is ridiculously inaccurate. I'm assuming that without the LED fitting this could end up being considered a 4" antifreeze faucet, but you can see in the picture that it's a lot shorter. I have to order another valve without the top fitting at the end and add a 90 degree bend at the top to get the faucet where I need it. The quality of the faucet seems to be normal, but the seller needs to correct its dimensions. This is absolutely not suitable for theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • connecting to 1/2 inch PEX for water supply
Cons
  • volume

Great product and price - will buy again

Great product and priceI am a contractor and owner. This is the only type of outside connection that should be in the freezer areas of the house. This is a quality product at a very good price, we will be buying more. Pay attention to the short length of the line to the house and to the heated room. The handle is outside of the body and rotates the valve stem, which is just in front of the Pex fitting. This valve must be stored above freezing. For your installation, make sure that the PEXโ€ฆ

They are frost proof unless you leave the hose on.

I have had two Everflow 6214P-NL sills on the outside of the cab in two years of use. Night time temperatures dropped to -22ยฐC (-8ยฐF) last year and I had none Problems with frost damage. I had a break this year because I forgot to remove the hose to allow the drain faucet to drain. It was my fault, not a design flaw. I ordered a new replacement. These faucets are designed to last having to remove the hose when turning off the faucet handle when the temperature is expected to drop belowโ€ฆ
