Used insect chemical caps

We filled caps with borax acid to control cockroaches and placed them in the kitchen and other places. The lids were the perfect size, cheap and easy to use. It would have been more fun to use them to bottle beer, but this alternative function worked for us!

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Sun Sun

Do not use for carbonating

Do not use for conditioning bottles such as champagne, beer, cider or kombucha. You will not get any pressure in the bottle. Apparently they also absorb CO2 or allow it to be expelled through the cap. I don't know why he's happy, but he's ruined a lot of cider.

Pros
  • Many will fit
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Works well for home brewing

They work well and are good value for money. I've seen some reviews saying they don't seal. I can only expect that people who say these caps don't seal well either didn't cap their bottles properly or didn't stir the priming sugar well. These lids worked great on 48 bottles of home made beer.

  • Good thing

works perfectly. The best in home brewing and winemaking

I bought these to use with a homebrew kit with a pretty standard bottle cap. Love her. Also ideal for those times when you opened a beer that you didn't want or couldn't finish. I put the cap on and tomorrow it's like new. I don't notice much warping when I squeeze it and it seems to be holding up very well.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • The list will be long.

plastic seal. Big!

The decisive factor for me is the plastic seal on the inside of the bottle cap. I've been brewing beer for a long time and sometimes the pressure isn't as good as it should be. As a result, I've had batches that didn't carbonize due to carbonation leaking out during production. It is excellent. I highly recommend them.

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to it
Cons
  • There's trouble

Incompatible with bottling and bottling

I haven't had any failures other than a few losses during the capping process with the first batch of 144 caps I bought. Already with the second batch I found that three of the first 36 filled items were not the right size and the content was spoiled. I don't know if the maker of the second batch is different, but I'm definitely not thrilled with the latest finds.

Sealed Bottles, Fizzy Beer

I usually buy caps at my local beer store. They sell a half pack of 72 capsules for 2.99. I brew in five gallon batches, so each pack is enough for about a batch and a half brew. The last pack of caps was defective, they looked and felt good, but none of the bottles I've used them on were carbonated/sealed. Other bottles from the same batch of beer with caps from other packaging fizzed very well so it wasn't a bad fermentation or anything. If anything, buying baseball caps from them made me a…
