When I pulled it out of the box, I found that there were no cotter pins on the handle's lever mechanism, which fell apart in my hands. I have some rusty nails all over the cab to fix. I assembled it at the wellhead, and on the third or fourth handle pump the entire top part came loose. There is a turnbuckle. acts as a handle stop that secures the top. Doesn't last, pulled several times in vain. There must be a notch or retainer to allow the end of the screw to grip the pump body. Low urine…

  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Great pump for the price.

Just installed this in my remote cabin to bring pond water to the back porch. Installation was easy and I installed a 1 inch water line with a bottom valve at the end of the pond. (I didn't bother with the math and took a chance it would work.) I soaked the pump the day before installing it to keep the skin nice and moist. It works fantastic! I don't know why I didn't do it. I haven't done that in a while. Topping it up was a breeze, although a week later when I wanted to pump it again I had to

Not good value for your dollar.

Nice pump. However, both seals must be replaced upon purchase. Well depth 17 feet. After installation within about 12 hours. I need 40 to 59 pumps to pump water out of one pump. When the pump is full. That gives a very good flow. I had trouble sealing the bottom gasket. Even after the replacement I tried to tighten the screw. Trying to stop a leak. Until one side broke. I had to weld it again. I could never get it to flow down Decided to order another. If you don't mind extra pumps or having to

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great pump, need better factory seals.

I bought 2 of these devices for 2 different properties. They work great but Simmons needs better seals, both pumps lose primer after a few minutes so I had to spend $40 on a 1 1/4 inch brass valve to put under the pump so I switch the valve every time out I use this so the water doesn't lose fill and fall back 20 feet. When you insert the valve you can wait a few weeks before using the pump again and the water will be there immediately to pump, no priming is required, just open the ball valve…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive
