Try SX500 with friends before you buy

Takes too long to load every time. Difficult to hold without pressing the 'button' (lock/unlock, ball marker etc. camera off I don't need) These buttons are too sensitive. Switch on/off just right. Perfect size display (reason I bought it) However, I went back to my old Garmin Approach G6 with face buttons. Charges fast and no annual fee.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Negative experience

Doesn't last long and customer service is terrible.

This worked great for about 12 months. Then it suddenly stopped loading. I tried several different charging cables and spoke to their "support" for over an hour before being told the warranty was only six months. It's ridiculous to pay that kind of money for something that will last just over a year. My next purchase will be a Garmin.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • No automatic setup

Best GPS I've ever used

Skycaddy got it right. Absolutely amazing resolution, all the features I need. I particularly like the simple shot tracking and scoring. The size is large but easily fits in the front pocket between the frames. The screen lock ensures that nothing is typed. And the battery life is a game changer. I can keep it at 100% lighting for 18 holes and only use 75%. I don't have polarized sunglasses so the screen is bright enough to read in bright sunlight. Changing and choosing different views is easy.

Pros
  • One year trial

  • Minor issues

Annual fees still apply!

I have been using the Sky Caddy since their first product came out and what they offered was the best. It looks like an amazing device but I asked if they would still need an annual subscription to which they said yes although they drop the first year when purchasing. I let my subscription expire this year and told them I'm out as long as they charge for the service. There are a lot of great devices out there now that I think are just as good as GPS technology, which has improved a lot over the

Great device - won't charge

SkyCaddie makes great products and the functionality of the SX500 is excellent. Clear screen, great features, very accurate shots. But the way the case covers the charging port (micro USB) makes it almost impossible to plug the charging cable into the port. I just spent 20 minutes plugging the micro USB connector into the case of the device. vain. I bought a second charging cable from them thinking mine might be faulty. Same result. The design of the case is ridiculous and because I can't plug…

Simply better than others

This Skycaddie is better than all other GPS's. And it's even better than the latest version of Skycaddie. So easy to use. So intuitive. So quick update. All courses are already available. Cursor when you use your finger to locate position on the track. Just smart things around. Most reviews mention a proprietary charger. It hurts a little but they replaced it as soon as I told them I had a problem. You should get their charger because it's a bit of a walk or downtown than a regular micro USB…

  • It's amazing

Terrible product and customer service

I bought the SX500 on April 11th, 2021. A few weeks ago I discovered that new lists of favorite golf courses were not syncing. Skygolf touts that the SX500 allows users to select favorite courses that users define and users can manage the list. Found out my car can't do that. This is only allowed for the first set of favorites and when I tried to change the list I couldn't. I have contacted several Skygolf support staff regarding this issue, but none of them have resolved the issue. The last…

The best portable GPS navigator ever made.

The battery is amazing. The ability to select parking spots or know the distance to a marker about 150 meters when in the trees is unparalleled. The points storage and stats tracking is top notch and easy to use. things they could improve. . . The "Lock" button should be pressed more firmly. It accidentally presses to unlock the screen sometimes when you put it in your pocket. Yes I know some people leave it in the wagon but I like to have it in my pocket when I'm in trees and such or away from

The best GPS on the market, but don't buy a poorly designed holster.

Pro: Gives you important information about stacking and approaching shots. Very easy to use, the battery easily lasts 2 rounds or more. Synchronization with a computer is also very easy. Some may be put off by a $60/year subscription (free for the first year). I play once a week, sometimes more, so it comes down to $1 a game, which is nothing compared to paying for a t-shirt. Skysoft is awful, poorly designed and broken on first use. The button on the holster for plugging into the clip does not
