Peace of mind for caregivers young and old!

I bought this item to give family peace of mind and 24 hour care for my dad. He was so slippery he could get out of bed and crawl across to the bathroom, and even with a baby monitor no one could hear him. He was extremely independent and was annoyed if anyone sat in front of his room. We knew it wouldn't tolerate an alarm and the motion sensor was the perfect solution. We managed to put him in a corner of his room which he didn't notice. As he sat down on the bed and lowered his legs, the…

Suitable for my security and surveillance needs

So far this has been 100% perfect for my needs. I read most of the reviews, both positive and negative. I understand that it really depends on your needs. I had to recognize when a member of my family is trying to get out of bed. If you place the motion sensor on the bedside table, you can easily see at which point your feet go over the edge of the bed, at which point the alarm goes off. I agree with other alarm system reviews. There really should be a reset button that you press to stop and…

Pros
  • The system comes with 1 economy class wireless monitor and 1 swing arm motion sensor to detect movement in a specific area. It's easy to control how your loved ones get out of bed or leave the room. Can be used over or near doors or next to a bed.
Cons
  • Dear

This is my new best friend. I am taking care of my 94 year old father and he has dementia. He loves getting out of bed, especially at night. He already has a broken hip, a bad scratch and bruises; single episodes. I went crazy until I found this gem. The key is to place it in a strategic location as it is very sensitive to movement. I have it in the corner under my bed. He's so curious even though he knows it. However, this is the best placement, otherwise he'll roll over, the ceiling will…

Pros
  • Expandable Monitor - Can support up to 6 wireless components.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Alarm block - 4 stars, motion detection - 1 star

The 433-EC alarm unit is pretty good on its own as you can use up to 6 sensors. I bought a chair cushion and a bed cushion to match this unit. Contrary to other reviews I've seen, it can control all the sensors at the same time if programmed correctly. (Instructions are clearly provided along with the pads.) The motion sensor is disappointing, however. One problem is that when the motion detector goes off an alarm, it will continue to sound until you turn off the power button for a few seconds…

Pros
  • Monitor with adjustable volume (high/low/medium).
Cons
  • Little things
