very poor quality.: Active

These socks arrived with HOLES! 2 large holes at the top of the sock. You were a gift, so now I have to fight for something else. They also felt very prickly when I put my hand inside. In contrast to other smart wool socks, I have other thin ones. This is VERY poor quality/plagiarism. Now I have to take care of the way back. If I have time later I'll upload a photo of the holes.

  • Recommended use: Daily

Fantastic socks. Enough.

Who loves new socks? Me. These socks are the best value for money. They are comfortable and very cozy. The sizes of these socks are very good. I wear size 9 women's shoes and the medium sock is perfect. I was afraid they would itch, but not at all. I don't know what they do to make these socks so perfect for winter, but that's exactly what they are. I will definitely replace other winter socks with Smartwool socks. So worth the price. Very important.

Pros
  • Pillow: light

Poor Quality Clothing

I've been a long time fan of Smartwool socks which help me get through the north east winters. I ordered them to replace a longtime favorite pair that had lost weight through long use. Unfortunately I am sending them back - they are thin socks, not warm and the quality is terrible for such a price. I paid $15 for a pair! I could get similar quality at Target for $3. It's not worth it! It dilutes your Smartwool brand. The seller worries me a lot about free returns even though they say freeโ€ฆ

Thin, uncomfortable and won't go to bed.

I am very disappointed in these socks. In the end I decided to bite the bullet and buy Smartwool socks. They're flimsy, don't hold up, and the cables are actually uncomfortable (think extra nubs at the top of the instep in the shoe). The seam is also uncomfortable. Not at all what I expected. I will no longer buy Smartwool socks online. Some models might be great, but this pair isn't. Bought 2 different styles of Darn Touch merino wool socks for my husband and they are fantastic.

Pros
  • Machine washable
Cons
  • Something different

My favorite socks of all time.

I really like these socks! I'm very picky about what I wear on my feet. I can't stand anything very tight or anything loose. They gently rock my feet and don't scratch. I was hesitant to try on a pair as I don't like wool at all. But in winter they were soft and warm. Also comfortable in hiking boots in summer! They absorb moisture and wick it away from your feet. I like the elasticity of knitted braids. They last and never fall. Her dream is to wear it.

Pros
  • Made in USA or Imported
Cons
  • Some bugs

Not like before

I'll never wear this. I own several pairs of Smartwool socks including this brown model from a few years ago. It doesn't even look like the same product and I wonder if it actually contains wool. Looks like cheap nylon. It doesn't even look like the same sock - see attached photo of my 3 year old brown socks next to the black ones I just bought. Judging by this and another pair of a different style, these are either cheap fakes, or the quality of Smartwool has greatly deteriorated. Time to find

Pros
  • nylon, spandex, merino wool

I'm a convert: Clothing

My 20 year old recommended these socks for travel as he said they "should only be washed once a week. "I couldn't believe and was suspicious that they were made of wool as wool often makes me itchy. However, I tried them and now I'm a convert! Although they weren't as smooth as cashmere, they weren't itchy at all and were very comfortable - they didn't pinch my foot but they weren't so loose that they slipped down to my ankle. They kept my feet warm in cold climates and at the same time weren'tโ€ฆ
