Smartwool Womens Merino Desert Orchid Sports & Fitness Review

I wore them around the house with sneakers for several hours and they did not last. They kept slipping off my heels. They are definitely not suited for exercise or even a light walk. I ordered small even though I'm a size 8 but they still don't stay up. The little one fits perfectly. Not too big or too small but not suitable for tennis shoes.

Be careful when you order these socks. When I first ordered hide and seek, they fit perfectly. I "ordered again" and came in a completely different style. The name was the same, but the cut was completely different. The "new" style is cut much lower on the sides, the socks don't stick out. I returned two pairs I bought. Very disappointed because the 'old' style worked great.

I first bought these socks a few years ago and they have been my socks for the work week. I like wool for its ability to absorb moisture and it stayed on my feet and didn't slip like many invisible socks. However, I recently repurchased them in August 2020 and the style has deteriorated. See photos, left old, right new. They slip off the heel and don't stay on it. Now I have to look for a new favorite sock.

I have had many pairs of the previous version of these socks and loved them. However, the hide-and-seek design has changed since I last bought it. They will NOT stay on my feet. Before I even left the house, the sock slipped off my heel and crumpled under my foot. This was NEVER a problem with the old version. I will not order in this style again. As I am so happy with the durability of all my other Smartwool products I will have to try a different style and see if it lasts.

Everyone seems to hate the new design but I like it. Actually I just added a few to my wish list. They're cut a little wider to be subtle with other styles of shoes. Also, they don't have the piping around the opening like the other designs. For me, this trimming would dig into the bony parts of my foot depending on what shoes I was wearing. There are no edge cuts now and I find them much more comfortable. I've been wearing them for a few months now, so I've really been able to test them out…

My Hide and Seek Smartwool Charcoal Medium was purchased due to my great satisfaction with the same light gray Smartwool medium socks I bought a few months ago. However, the new carbon socks are significantly different. They are much shorter as can be seen in my photo. The dark gray sock was tight and the elastic cut into my legs uncomfortably.
