Don't hesitate, just give it a try - your dog will probably love it and it's safer than what you're doing now!

It was easier to install than I expected and my dog got used to it in about 10 minutes. It feels quite secure as the shoulder and waist straps keep it in place, and the included extension was long enough to attach to the shoulder strap and then the D-ring of my dog harness. This allowed my dog to relax enough to stand up (as in her picture) or lie down comfortably and look in any direction he wanted. My dog is a 13-14 lb Italian Greyhound. The best car seat for dogs

The reason I chose this dog seat is because it uses a car seat belt. After installation (super quick) and prolonged use in the car, it is much more stable than other car seats I have used in the last 12 years. Yes there was a small gap between my car seat and the dog seat, I folded the beach towel and the problem was solved. I attached the harness to the shoulder strap.
