Stainless Steel for High Humidity Environments

Summary: We live in a high humidity environment so I prefer stainless steel hardware and fasteners, even for interior work. Pros: Good fit and finish; stainless steel material; sharp teeth; Supplied in a reusable/sealable container. Disadvantages: none. Verdict: $29 for 100, $0.29 each, which is better than similar deals (most deals are for 25 packs of $10-$15), so rate this 5 stars.

Pros
  • Stainless steel offers the best corrosion resistance in any environment
Cons
  • Protection

It's 10-24, NOT 10-32 as advertised!

I had a cabinet repair project that I wanted to fix with anchors and glue but decided to use a threaded nipple. So when they arrived I ordered them. Here's what I found: 1. First, it's NOT the size they advertise! Actually it is 10-24 strands which is not the usual size.2. Everything is fine with the plug itself, but the tips are not sharp. If you're going to set them in hardwood, you'll need a hammer to set them before using them! 3. Shipping a product with this label indicates either poor…

Pros
  • For use with a 32 threads per inch #10 male thread
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Incorrect thread pitch. It is actually 10-24

It is actually 304 stainless steel and the tips are sharp. They might fit but the threads are wrong. I've tried installing a 10-32 bolt and it WILL NOT be threaded. The only way I can thread a 10-32 screw in is if I thread my own 10-32 tap. I don't use many 10-24 bolts, so I don't have any available checked the threads with both a thread gauge (I only have metric threads, no SAE gauges) and a 10-24 tap. The 10-24- Taps fit these threads perfectly and the closest metric pitch I could find for…
