Description of PetSafe Happy Ride Dog Barrier - Front Seat Barrier for Cars, Trucks, and SUVs

VISIBLE: The barrier is made from a see-through, durable, mesh material which allows you to have visibility, yet is resistant to damage from your pet’s nails. SIMPLE SET-UP: The dog barrier is quick to install and uninstall; the two adjustable cinch straps wrap around the front headrests and a support rod and seat anchors hold the barrier in place. COMPATIBLE: The front seat dog barrier fits cars, SUVs and trucks with headrests. EASY-TO-STORE: The barrier easily collapses so you can store it in the storage pouch when not in use; the barrier pops open and returns to its natural shape when you are ready to use it again. IMORTANT INFORMATION: While the PetSafe Happy Ride Dog Barrier is a physical barrier, it is not intended to stop determined dogs; training may be required for some pets.

Holds my two dogs in the back seat and drools off my arm

The only issue was the screen install (no instructions). Understood with the installation. My chihuahua likes to jump on my lap and my medium sized dog likes to stand on the console. It stopped on the first ride. The barrier seemed to calm both dogs - they could see us through the barrier. The barrier feels solid while still being able to be folded up and placed in a storage bag like some car curtains. I recommend this product. It works well with the dog hammock in the back seat and certainly…

Simple and works for road trip accessories

Easy to use and works well. Not strong enough for a dog to use its claws or push through objects but adequate barrier to hold my two Aussies from behind and not lick my face while I ride! Just bought a second one for our other car. It's worth noting that I'm short, so one front seat in the car is always high compared to the other. This makes the screen look weird, but doesn't affect how it works. I also have a "hammock" for the dog in a car, which took a bit of fiddling to secure the straps of…

Happy driver, happy puppies

Our dog loves to examine everything that happens in the front seat of the car. As you can imagine, this gets a little more difficult when you're trying to get behind the wheel and avoid your best friend, who you know is just trying to grease you up so he can sit on your lap. To keep our animals in the back of the car we tried throwing our hands over the entrance or pushing a towel or blanket over there. Thats much better. It was really easy to put up with and the dogs seem to respect it. If you

Not what I expected

I was disappointed with this purchase and have already sent a return and refund sticker. There are two things I have trouble with: 1) It's clearly made for larger dogs because it stretches from the floor to the roof of the car. But nothing prevents a moderately determined medium-sized dog from bending over the top and snapping the plastic elbow connector in the middle of the two bars. That's right, it's not a strong center pole, but a very flexible pole that you would find in a camping tent…

Easy to assemble and install

Easy to assemble and install, but whether it works for you or not depends on how determined your dog is to join you. We had two dogs when we tried this. One has always held up well in the back, although he was happy to put his front paws on the center console and hang out with us, but he didn't fit in unless invited. The second dog we adopted was a completely different story. A 40-pound husky who wanted to get his way and nothing else. And her path has included her management assistance. This…

My dog won't try to ride the shotgun anymore!

I did a lot of research before choosing this barrier for my dog. I have a 2 door Fiat 500 and really wish she wouldn't jump in the front seats as she loses a lot! Besides functionality, aesthetics were also important and I liked that this barrier didn't have thick, heavy metal bars like some others and just blended into them. The mesh does not obstruct my rear view and my dog can see me from the back seat. She's really enjoying her little space there, and especially after feeding her some…

Working but has minor issues

At first I was very hesitant to order this. I had some friends who had a similar product and it worked for them, but my dog was a bit nervous in the car and I figured he'd find a way around it. was i right Yes and no. If the barrier is adjusted correctly, it stays in the back seat. It helps me focus on driving, keeps them on the seat cover, keeps my other passengers from dog hair when they get in my car, and helps protect them. However, the barrier weakens over time, and twice my dog found it…
