Sonos product reviews can be a bit misleading due to bigotry and haters. This is an expensive purchase for a small speaker and people want to feel justified in their spending. I will start this review on the positive side. Pros: 1. Streaming is error free2. The mobile app is fantastic, the ability to combine playlists from multiple services is something I really use3. Installation couldn't be easier, it just works4. Multiple rooms, stereo interfaces and flexibility are the main benefits5…

Doesn't work properly with Alexa, sound is mediocre. if it works.

Average sound quality, doesn't fill the living room with quality sound. There are no audio inputs on this thing. Is it WiFi/Ethernet or GTFO? This could explain part of the poor sound quality mentioned above. ALEXA, MUSIC OFF. No longer works. I've never yelled so hard at Alexa. Their functionality with Sonos is sparse. You must specify a room. To. Everyone. Team. We have an Echo Dot that used to have amazing bookshelf speakers and this setup worked almost flawlessly. Now I want to set the…

Make. Your. research work.

I wanted to intervene because I see this little talker is getting an unfair bad name for being misunderstood. That's the problem. If you're looking for a great Bluetooth speaker that sounds amazing and will handle all your small speaker needs by itself, you're looking in the wrong place. Don't get me wrong, the Play1 sounds pretty good and it's a well-made, solid little speaker, but overall Sonos' mission isn't to give you a small standalone Bluetooth speaker. Sonos is designed as a HIFI sound…

Sonos, what have you done?

Sonos speakers I've been touting everyone since 2014 when I bought my first one. I even bought two for my 83 year old mother who doesn't have a smartphone. Oh, that's a problem. No smartphone, no Sonos. They rendered the Windows controller useless except for playing music and adjusting the volume. Everything else is done through the phone app, which means you have to register and create an account, and you'll be tracked. sonos 67% of the US population owns a smartphone, but we're not at 100%…

Please repair your software!

I'm losing my patience with Sonos. I've built quite a large system (eight Play-1s, a Play-5, a soundbar, a subwoofer) and have been a big believer in the past; However, the latest update to the Sonos app was terrible. Now (after the update) I have to unplug my Sonos controller and wait for it to restart. It's gotten so annoying that I'm starting to regret buying the inexplicably expensive Sonos components. Sonos was (and should be) plug-and-play, but it definitely isn't. In addition, it took a…

This is no longer the option it used to be.

The sound quality is excellent but I can't recommend a system based on the software required to control the speakers more highly. The latest software versions that are updated whether you like it or not are unattractive and contain bugs. Sonos' attempt to "improve" the user interface resulted in my speakers being linked to a sonos.com account. You cannot add or change a system without internet access to this account. I bought them to basically play music on my computers and not have to…
