Nice product, happy with my purchase and may buy again.

expensive. If they had made a normal 35mm lens narrower, and even better, a 28mm lens, made to the ideal, or at the very least on par with this, I never would have purchased a 50mm lens. There is a possibility that 28mm will be announced the following month. If such is the case, it will be stored on the camera rather than on this piece of metal. Has some pros: I'm not sure, but the photographs seem to be of high quality. Sony only offers one lens, the 7rm2, so there is nothing else to evaluate…

The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

For reporting, weddings, and other occasions where you want to capture dynamics, I advise using it as your primary normal glass. However, it implies that the focus will move slowly, which fixes frequently become ill, and where you need a good aperture with a pleasing artistic blur of the background.

Pros
  • Excellent glass—let's call it the best in its class for 50mm focal lengths—is brilliant, allows you to snap pictures at night in the winter with the help of a diode "stick" of light. I'll start with the mechanics. The casing is made of metal, and it is nice and easy to handle. This heavy "barrel" fits well in the hand, and the hood snugly fits over it. At the same time, the lid can be removed from it. The Zeiss nameplate on the case is appealing to the eye and comforting to the soul. There is a diaphragm ring, but unlike Fujik's rings, it does not have its own life and requires some effort to spin. Although you may detect chromium at an open aperture, which was crucial to me, everything is correct when magnified 400 times in post-production. Very accurate color reproduction. In this comparison, I use the zoom lenses 16-35 GM and 85 G, both of which are readily available. Furthermore, he concentrates quickly enough, unlike his younger sibling 55/1,8, who tends to creep in the dark aimlessly. I photograph food for menus and content at a good minimum focal length. On my second Rke, the sharpness of 1.4 in the center is superb; therefore, for newer models and the A9, it will be more than sufficient. Excellent microcontrast. You probably worry about bokeh the most, but I like it; it's interesting; I used to use a Sigma ART 50mm; there were also various Canon 50mm lenses; everything is fine, but not what I wanted; I wanted sharp edging and in some spots, pleasant cream; it's all here. Bokeh is a question of taste; I enjoy it, but I'll say it again.
Cons
  • It's unfortunate that top/fix glasses now weigh 800g on average and have an aperture ratio of 1.4 in order to fully resolve such a high megapixel count. what can you do, though? The cost is $1400 USD in the western market. Perhaps it's inexpensive there, but it's expensive for us.

I'm very happy with the product, it's very satisfying.

In my opinion, this is the best portrait lens that Sony has to offer. It is puzzling why there is so little discussion on blogs about this lens, and why there are so few reviews on this page. In point of fact, though, this is an outstanding example of a masterpiece in the field of portrait photography. Large vertical and horizontal framing when the lens is first opened (this lens is not ideal for full-length portraits; for them, I prefer to use 85/135mm). A chic and smooth bokeh that is…

Pros
  • A portrait that is both shallow and made of plastic lucidity as well as faithful representation of colors
Cons
  • a motor that makes a lot of noise during autofocus

Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good one.

Purchased for use with the A7III camera. Dolga selected between him, Sigma 50 1.4 and Zeiss Sonnar 55 1.8. As a consequence of this, I decided to purchase it, despite the fact that it was used; as a result, I saved forty percent compared to the price of a brand new one. In general, because the design is so dependable, I do not believe that there was any error in this. The sole advantages of the Zeiss 55 1.8 are its weight, which is four times lighter, and its lack of noise (in this case, the…

Pros
  • - The sharpness of the image - the aperture - the bokeh effect - The speed and dependability of the focus - Assembling (reliable, made of steel) In general, all reviewers agree that this is the best 50mm full frame portrait lens available.
Cons
  • - The amount of weight. This lens has the distinction of being the heaviest one in my collection thus far. It's kind of odd because it weighs probably between 150 and 200 grams more than even a 70-350 crop telephoto lens. - Price. At this price, it is over 2.5 times more expensive than a comparable Sigma lens that possesses identical qualities. - A buzzing sound can be heard when shifting the focus (this only occurs in AF-C mode; AF-S mode is unaffected). - There was not a hood provided with it. You won't be able to place an order for your own in the year 2022 since it will be too expensive to bring it from Japan, the United States, or Europe. - There is not an additional button that may be customized on the lens (this feature was introduced with the new G and GM series). - No stabilization.

Fits the description completely, very satisfying.

What can you expect from Zeiss? Sharpness is even at 1.4, Contrast is always and everywhere, the picture is gorgeous, there are a lot of details, but this miracle also weighs about 800 grams. You have to pay a lot for the quality of workmanship and materials . but it justifies it. With its pros. 1) The picture is simply gorgeous, sharpness, contrast even at the edges of the frame are magnificent 2) Metal, but for this money you should not expect another 3) Aperture adjustment ring on the lens…

Best 50mm for Sony E-mount

If you want picture quality, better than Zeiss 55mm. Great lens design! Mine has focus noise, but mostly you don't notice it.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok

VERY DONE FROM THIS 50mm lens

This has been my biggest disappointment of the year so far All the reviews say how sharp this lens is wide open but mine is soft and I've been wanting to trade it in for a good one ever since it has to be the lens as my a7riii has the latest firmware and all my other lenses are very sharp

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

This lens is not your usual small and light 50mm lens. It's strong and heavy, but the result is sharp and clear focus. F1.4 is really great when the subject is close to you and the background gets blurry. Love it. I wish they had a 35mm version too.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Stand by your word! IT LOOKS BRAND NEW!

They are fast! I ordered my Sony Zeiss Planar 50mm 1.4 on August 6th, received it on August 10th - two days before the expected delivery date! Also, I must say that I was ready to see small scratches or defects even on the lens barrel since I bought it used, but there are practically none! The packaging also looks like NEW. I have never been so happy about such quality!

Pros
  • Pleasant

  • Obsolete
