Mercury Outboard Motor Control Box Ignition Switch 87-17009A2, 3 Position, 6-Wire – Compatible with Sierra MP41070-2 Review

Switch fell apart on second use. The switch housing is only held together with a small piece of electrical tape. I have ordered another one and will remove the wrong piece of tape and use glue and tape to hold the unit together. To update. I canceled the exchange and got a quality switch from a nearby marine store and saved money.

Fits my Mako 17 Skiff perfectly / Colors and knobs match original Mako / Tracker. The tracker switch is made in Taiwan, this replacement is not secure but works great. Note: I managed to make a copy of the key on the HD, see key code in the pictures BUT the HD key was a bit thick and didn't fit the switch box so I went to my local locksmith and he did sharpened the HD button on the non-flat side of the button, and it works great.

After I installed the cable connectors, a little extra space made assembly very difficult. I had to install a switch so now the key is reversed to allow the wires to match. The first few times it worked, the throttle doesn't work and the engine won't stop. You must use the choke to stop the engine.
