Not pure black. the best in the aquarium Substrate

As seen in the photo. This is gravel painted black. Lots of chips to reveal a different color. There were also a few other colored pieces to choose from. Nothing unusual, but it was noticeable. If you are looking for pure black, this is not the brand for you.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Fantastic gravel! I needed 50 pounds and it was .

Fantastic gravel! I needed Β£50 and it was a great price. The stones are a beautiful jet black color, relatively evenly sized and best of all, they go straight to your door. Don't carry large pet store gravel bags that cost triple or more. I will definitely use this gravel again next time I start a new pool.

  • Good product for the price

More than enough: Gravel

I bought two 55 gallon bags and I really think 35 pounds would do, the gravel was pretty deep. However, it's nice to have a spare in case I get a bigger tank. They're a nice dark black color, I rinsed them out a few pounds at a time with a fine metal mesh strainer and dug the spray nozzle into the rocks, the water cleared straight away so it seemed to be working fine. I only picked 3 stones out of the 50 lbs because they were uncolored, excellent quality control at this ratio. Black really…

BAD FOR FISH!: Aquarium Substrate

I bought this because I didn't want to grow plants in this aquarium. Now I have 5 aquariums (all with fresh water). I think I'm pretty sure about what I'm saying/doing at this point. These are painted stones. The color came off the stones about 2 months after installation in my aquarium. Left it muddy black and made me run to save my flowerhorn. The guys who put this together and brought it to market could definitely burn in hell for this... I mean, my fish definitely don't swim in acid, so…

Better quality expected

I expected better quality for the price. Avoid painted white gravel. Unfortunately, this is also white gravel painted black. When I put it in my aquarium, if I look closely I can see the white color through many of the rocks. I can only ask why on earth you used white gravel to paint black?! There are so many other natural gravel colors! I was also annoyed to see random little bits of other colors mixed in with it. While washing the gravel I removed a lot of floating debris that looked like…
