Incorrect Description - Incorrect Advertising

Incorrect Description. They are too small for 3/8" or 1/2" bolts/nuts. but too big for 1/4" screws so maybe 5/16" but I don't have any of those to try. The inner diameter of the cap is 15mm or about 0.59 inch [a 1/2 inch nut is about 13/16 inch or 0.8125 inch diagonally from point to point]. Made of chrome steel.

Pros
  • 1/2" or 7/16" Chrome
Cons
  • Frequency

nice finished screw heads

I have a restored old fashioned air pump from the 1950's. It's bolted to the finished floor of my garage. I wanted a nice chrome cap to cover my 1/2" screw heads and they do just that. Hopefully the chrome will hold up in my hot and humid garage. They come with an internal plastic cap that fits over the screw and then a chrome cap snaps onto them. They give you plastic inner caps for 12mm, 13mm and 1/2". Really good end.

Pros
  • hide old ugly screw heads
Cons
  • secret

Chrome-plated caps for screws FOREVER!

We first used these caps on a custom bike almost 7 years ago. The original caps are still present, without rust spots and/or signs of wear! They hide the screw heads for a "clean" look. You can find them at AutoZone or similar places, but they cost more. I would recommend that you measure all of your gear and buy enough to get the job done right away. It takes SECONDS to put one of them on. No hardware removal required. The male. YOU CAN'T BE WRONG!

Pros
  • Nice chrome finish
Cons
  • Not the best

Doesn't work with 13mm bolt heads

I've tried mounting them on regular 13mm bolt heads under the hood. Follow the instructions, use the right sleeves. One of the six bushings caught on one of the screw heads, the rest just fell off. Try to put on hats with sleeves. They all fell. I also tried using 12mm cases but of course they were too small. I suppose if you fill the caps with silicone and stick them on you can hold them in place, but that's not how they should work. So all in all a big failure. To be honest they might fit…

Pros
  • Installs in seconds
Cons
  • I don't really have any complaints about this, it's fine
