Very comfortable on Athletic

I walked the Camino de Santiago for 8 days in different terrains with these shoes. I've read that waterproof shoes can cause feet to overheat, but I haven't experienced this at all. As I have a fairly high arch I swapped out the insole for one that offers a bit more arch support and is very comfortable.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Functionality

Not exactly a low profile shoe

This is a very well made shoe, but the side of the shoe is too high for me, it touches my ankle and is uncomfortable. Merrell seems to be the only manufacturer, and possibly Saucony, who really knows how to make a 'flat' shoe that will fit me and half the other people who will be returning these shoes for the same reason," said Mrs . Travel.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some minor issues

The best sneakers I've ever had!

The best hiking shoes I've ever had! Worn to walk the Inca Trail (not broken) and I had perfectly happy feet! Good grip, light and my feet stayed dry. (although it was quite dry and I didn't walk in puddles but wet grass) I would definitely recommend them to those who like comfort. I think I should buy another pair in case they are discontinued!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Hard to say

No breaking in in time, any weather, any route, allroad no

the best part is that the shoes don't always need to be broken in or laced up the first time you buy them, you can wear them and they are good to wear. Stop walking around again and again for the first two or three weeks that I wear them or spend so much extra time lacing them up to breaking them, I don't mind

Pros
  • hands free
Cons
  • there are downsides

Great Alaska shoes!

I had my eye on this shoe for a long time before I gave up and bought it. I think they run small but I went to the store and tried on similar shoes to find my size for La Sportiva. They were a bit stiff for a while but relaxed well. Overlays on the toe and heel protect shoes from abrasion and destruction. I also love the waterproofing and grip they offer. My friends don't understand how "tennis shoes" can be waterproof. :DI will definitely buy La Sportiva shoes again in the future!

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions

Change socks and you're done

I'm a big fan of La Sportiva trail running shoes, this is my 5th pair overall. This was my first pair of Gortex. I was less concerned with water ingress and more concerned with all the dirt that accumulates on long runs and can eventually rub. The Gortex construction did an incredible job of keeping the mud/sand/dust out. However, I noticed almost immediately that the shoes didn't allow for this breathing, and my feet got too hot and the sweat didn't disperse, my feet and socks rubbed like aโ€ฆ
