Works well! in camping

We bought two of these for our two kayaks to attach to our Honda CRV. They fit perfectly and although it was a bit tricky to install and fasten everything the first time, we're doing it much better now. We have already done 3 trips with our kayaks (the last one was 4 hours away) and everything went well on the highway! For the money it was great.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

No problems after 700 miles

Driven 700 miles with no problems. Just follow the instructions. Even with very strong side winds there were no problems. Passed the Big Mac Bridge with strong gusts and no problems. My only advice is to stop and check the straps more often. I'd rather find a broken strap than search the freeway for a runaway kayak.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Volume

Incredible reliability at half the price

Solid so far. They appear to be of high quality, even the laces and clutch buckles that come with them. Bought 2 sets to mount on my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee roof rack and they have held up well in cross highway winds. Concerned about the factory bars I have to check the weight against, they were bouncy with two kayaks mounted on them. Work very well.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Nothing

it worked well. Just remember to check your belts from time to time.

Well built. A 275 mile round trip on dual carriageway and dirt roads, towing a 60 pound kayak on a Toyota Corolla with Thule cross members, went flawlessly. Just remember to check your belts from time to time. It is important to tie the boat tightly. I used zip ties under the hood and under the trunk lid to secure the bow and stern - this helps avoid any wobble that could loosen the main straps. A 600-mile round trip is coming up. If something irreparable happens I will post again.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • There are problems

They can be used to carry things like.

I drive a Corolla, so it's sometimes difficult to look sporty. They literally put me in the same league as the Subaru Forester (suitable for gardeners over 50 with soft sun hats and Merrill shoes). At first glance you might be thinking "why would he keep them all year round?โ€ Waaaaa after kayaking season they can be used to carry things like moldings or boards on the way back from Lowe's. A dainty rug for sale in the yard or rug scraps. Skinny Christmas Trees. This thing is as versatile as youโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

I've just used 2 sets of these tote bags to make a family trip of around 6 hours to make home. It took a few tries before getting her in the car and tying her up was easy, but once we developed the system getting her up and down was a breeze - our teens could help. Helpful too - we bought a small collapsible step stool to keep in the car so we can get to the top of the beam brace. On the road, the kayaks were very stable, even at 65 mph. We used elastic cords front and rear for extra support on

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not the best
