Great addition to a Spyderco Sharpmaker system

PROS: - Aggressive diamond cutting edges quickly reprofile blades - Effective with even the toughest tool and powder steels CONS: - Slightly larger than standard blades which stretches the plastic base plate and creates excess play when using standard sharpening sticks - Can damage knives if used incorrectly as I am having trouble sharpening my Spyderco Sharpmaker. These diamond rods allowed me to quickly reuse my dull blades and use Sharpmaker to sharpen them to a razor sharp edge. I would…

Spyderco diamond point works well with dull serrated blades

I have had a set of Spyderco ceramic sharpeners for many years, about 20. They work for the most excellent of my pocket knives with serrated and straight blades, although not too blunt. For thin knives, I prefer to use the larger, flat Arkansas stone. I got these diamond sticks mainly for my serrated kitchen knives, some of which went unnoticed for a while. Pros
  • EASY TO CLEAN - just rinse with fresh water and allow product to air dry
Cons
  • Was damaged

What would take an hour with brown stones would take a few minutes with these. I use large DMT diamond blades for sharpening woodworking tools, so I'm used to not applying too much pressure. Some reviewers say the diamonds are falling. Nothing for me with light pressure. Once you've worked with diamonds, you'll quickly get bored of anything else for…
