Bang for your dollar!

When it comes to cost, the GX ticks all the boxes if you choose a tier in the Eagle range. Durability, utility and performance are all there. IMPORTANT: The chain is directional. Make sure the inner bend of the main link is facing the front sprocket.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

The chain is fine. - Sports

I've always liked Sram chains. I installed this chain and couldn't solve the skip problems. It turned out to be a cassette. The cassette was worn out by a chain! I also had to buy a new GX rear derailleur. It's not my main training bike so it's not accumulating mileage. $500 every six months is too much to test the transmission. I'm switching to Shimano XT.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • Slightly torn

I know I'm not the only idiot.

Installing this with my NX cassette, GX derailleur and derailleur I was pumped and on my way. It sometimes slipped under load in the lowest gear and didn't shift as crisply as I wanted, but it worked well enough. I came back and noticed that it was missing locks. They are trend-setting. I pointed the arrows towards the chain and life got a lot better.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • New competitors are here

GX quality, but subject to wear

OEM SRAM quality chain for GX 1x drives. It fits the gearbox that came with my bike. However, there are serious concerns about durability. After 600 km I was already forced to replace it. Internet forums say it is an issue with the GX level chain. The suggestion is to use X01 or XX1 chains to get more money. I bought an X01 chain to run my bike knowing it would be ready in 6 months.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Interchangeable

SRAM Chain Failure in Parts & Components

I finally bought a bike with a SRAM X01 Eagle drivetrain. I usually use Shimano XT but was excited to try the new SRAM 12 speed system with 50t mountaineering gear. For the most part I like it, although it still doesn't feel as crisp as Shimano. I know this is an overview of the circuit but thought I'd add a little background. I think the tolerances need to be tighter when trying to fit the extra cog into the cassette. Not sure if it's something else or if it really is the chain, but this isโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Cool Product
Cons
  • Some Issues
