Beware of non-OEM! - Steering system

Easy installation but that's it! Should have listened to all the reviews before buying! So don't even think about buying! Diagnosis and replacement cost me $325. So to all you backyard mechanics, don't skimp on this part and buy Genuine Motorcraft. This bad new part kept my truck from starting. 2007 F-150 FX4 5.4L.

This sensor was very easy to install

This sensor was very easy to install. I replaced the sensor at the same time as the old hose which makes replacing the sensor very easy - just warning - wait after installing the new hose before installing the new sensor to avoid damaging the new sensor - very easy to install and a cheap preventive measure if you need to replace a hose anyway!

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Warning Non OEM Fits Power Steering

I bought this for my 2004 Ford f150 fx4 and it cost me an additional $351 for troubleshooting and repairs. The Ford power steering sensor is on the same circuits that the PCM uses to control fuel pressure and fuel mixture. A day after installation this resulted in rich bank codes 1 and 2, rough idle, shutdown and left my truck in the shop for 9 days until they finally figured out that this part was causing the problem.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Reliability

Defect causing more serious handling problems.

My experience is exactly as described by the previous reviewer. The next day after installing this new pressure switch, the engine began to run poorly and stall. This sensor shares a common reference wire with other, more important sensors on the engine. In the event of a malfunction, it can falsify the readings of other sensors and cause the engine to run poorly or not work at all. Trouble codes from the PCM indicated a rich condition. I unplugged the sensor and was able to drive the car…

  • Good product for the price
