Solid replacement OEM

I installed this sensor after buying a used 2002 Saturn SC2. After installation I noticed that the temperature readings only go up to 1/4 gauge. Then I bought a Stant thermostat and replaced it. The engine is now running at the correct temperature.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Proactively replacing at this price

This was on my 2002 Saturn which had no specific codes to alert me to it. However, others have recommended changing it. It seems to have greatly improved my fuel economy and resolved some other ODBC codes that I thought had nothing to do with it. Great price and better than OEM.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are cons

Arrived quickly and at a reasonable price.

My wife's check engine light was on. So I hooked up diagnostics and they told me to replace this part. A few years after replacing this sensor, the light bulb stopped burning, and gas mileage improved significantly. Very satisfied. It was inexpensive and I could do it myself with no mechanic bill.

Pros
  • Excellent price
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

13mm deep socket will not fit

Good - yes, sealant has already been applied to the threads. A deep head is not suitable for engagement with a hex. I ended up using a 14mm deep file to install it. I tried gently filing (with a spark plug file) the convex brass section, but it would be too much to remove. So I either get a badly formed block or the whole batch is badly formed. Check with a 13mm deep socket as soon as you receive it to make sure you don't have the problems I had when you took things apart and are ready toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Line is shorter than other picks

Works in '01 Saturn

A previous review said not to worry about this as there is no screw lock on the threads in the picture as there is was supplied with a threaded lock. Well that wasn't the case for me, mine arrived without threadlocker (usually red). I only used 3 turns of teflon tape as a spare. The product came in a "Standard Series T" box with TX73T printed above the UPC code, so I think this is the model number of this ECTS. I used this in a '01 Saturn SL-1; 4 cylinder. The symptom that required replacementโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
