Windscreen wipers repaired! fits switch

Works great! Easy to install on my '98 Jeep XJ. I had a problem with the radio and the wipers. I wiggled the key and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. This new switch solved the problem. If you're worried about the electrical part then that's all you need, the rest of the ignition components are back in place and working properly.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Weight

held in place with a SECURITY TORX screw

That worked and now I can start the car. The key is that you need a SECURITY TORX, not a regular TORX screwdriver, to loosen the 1 nut holding it in place. It's a TORX screwdriver with a hole in the end. Alignment is a pain. And you must remove the small red locking clips before you can remove the plugs. Go to YouTube and look for videos on how to replace this - there are quite a few.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Solved my crank but no starting problem!

My Jeep Cherokee 02 has had intermittent starting problems but hasn't had any starting problems in the last 3 or 4 years. I've tried replacing the engine control unit, idle valve, relay, checked the wiring, vacuum tube, etc., but to no avail. I finally read of a case where one person solved the problem by replacing the ignition switch. Finally it worked. It's been a few months now and the Jeep starts every time.

Pros
  • High test results for support and durability
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

15 minutes to replace and install as intended

Exactly what I needed. As some may have found out, TJ had an issue with the ignition switches occasionally turning my radio off when I used my turn signals, my dash lights flashing when I hit the brake, and some other electrical issues when the key wasn't in place straight. Right. 15 minutes to replace and install as designed, make sure the battery is disconnected and be careful not to damage the seat belt bracket by pulling it out. 1999 Wrangler Sahara release.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Something different

Stop chasing your tail!

2K TJ - Signal lights clicked randomly all the time, sometimes jeep cranked for a while before starting, windshield wipers went back and forth. After spending hours trying to figure out all these electrical issues. I lifted the key while cranking and the jeep started right away! Pressed the button when starting and it just cranked without starting. I picked it up, it starts straight away, I noticed straight away that it was the ignition switch. Easy replacement, anti-burglary torx mounts…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Fixed problem but causes new ones

Finally fixed the problem of my jeep not starting but causing new ones. I didn't look closely at the electrical connection and when I plugged the harness in, the connector at the end of the harness broke. This allowed the engine to spin, but it would not start. It turns out that the plug is not a secondary spare part. After 4-5 hours of fiddling I was able to fix it but it caused a lot of needless frustration. If you choose this route, be sure to check the orientation of the buttons before…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Mostly fine but...
