The ignition lock cylinder works well and is easy to fit. Without the missing parts I would have given 5 stars. The two broken cap screws securing the bracket to the steering column were missing. Of course, they were only available from dealers. Now that I had to install the part, I had to drive back and forth to the dealership in an hour and pay $18(!) for two screws.

Actual installation is moderate to complex. That it works is another story. Buyers should be aware that the keys will not work unless you hire a locksmith, take the old and new keys to Honda, or simply drive/tow the car to Honda. You can't just change the ignition switch and make it work. Honda installs an immobilizer that doesn't allow you to do it yourself.

Installed this device and began to study key programming. I came across the Autel MaxiAP ODB2 Bluetooth ($70) for sale here at Revain. You simply download the software from your app store and register it. The device connects to your phone and once set up, Autel provides you with a free maker, which is why you chose Honda. Just go to Immobilizer option and select all lost keys and it will start registering 2 new keys. It took me less than 5 minutes to register them. Thanks to the internet.

YouTube tutorials have worked well for this. The switch was pretty easy. However, note that this comes with 2 new keys that need to be programmed for the RFID reader. It didn't seem that easy, so I instead taped the old key to the RFID reader and hid it under the dash instead of putting it back in the ignition. The cable was damaged in transit as the unit is heavy however you can easily detach this harness from the main assembly and reuse the existing harness. Significantly simplifies installation. Initially I had no way of programming new keys, so I simply removed the immobilizer ring from the ignition key and attached it to the non-metallic part of the cover, attaching my original key to it.
