Great tool. Best in Triple Square Drive

I had an old version of this tool, also a prototype, but it broke. This appears to be an updated and more reliable version; I don't think it will ever break.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Available in white only

You never want to be without it

I don't use this thing all the time but when I do use it I love having it around. It's basically just an overmolded plastic extension, but it's a genius thing. Very well done. I thought the plastic looked good, although some others said they were unhappy with the finish.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Like that

Excellent professional tool

I recently bought one for my home but have been using it at work since the early 90's. Great quality and I love the square shank in the handle which is the same piece of steel that runs through the entire handle. Much stronger than others, with a square socket casting.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Protection

Good socket drive.

I was looking for a simple tool box and used my 1/4 sockets in a screwdriver set. I bought a driver set but had trouble finding a metric set that I liked. I bought this final drive and use it on my 1/4 sockets. It has a socket on the end of the handle if you want to attach a 1/4 socket for a little extra torque.

Pros
  • Complete Set
Cons
  • Clarity

Useful and flexible tool

If you already have a set of ratchets, this tool replaces a whole set of screwdrivers and is another small tool to take with you. It's a little fiddly to switch heads when you're dealing with different sized nuts, but the fact that it doubles as a ratchet extension makes up for that, at least partially. All in all a well built and useful tool that I take for many projects just in case and end up using all the time.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Frequency

Used as a 1/4 " extension

Works as intended. It's basically a proto 1/4" extension with a plastic handle. I only used it as an extension a few weeks ago to remove the ABS sensors when replacing the A-pillars. The grip crackles at higher torque as other reviews have mentioned, but as long as it doesn't brake I don't care how it sounds. If you need that much torque, you should probably use a ratchet or wrench anyway.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Terrible plastic ruins everything.

The extension seems to be of decent quality but the acetate grip is terrible. Lots of sharp edges, and instead of taking the time to get the extension to fit the mold properly, they just sand down the end. It wouldn't be too bad, but they don't bother to keep it straight while doing it, so if you use it with a ratchet it will swing at you. Also, the plastic does not adhere well to the extension and is not thermally stable, so when the driver heats up, the plastic comes loose. Try using it this…

Pros
  • nice little thing
Cons
  • nothing here

Good tool, well built, MADE IN USA!

Stanley Proto J4769 1/4 inch socket very well made and just stolen for the price. It's also MADE IN THE USA! Unlike most drivers of this type, the steel part (actually a 1/4" drive extension) is a one-piece piece. This means that there is solid steel between the end of the ratchet and the end of the bit (with a very nice polished chrome finish -Finish.) A 4" "male" driver on the other end with nothing but plastic in between. When used with a ratchet, the "inner" end can rotate in the plastic…

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Infuriates
