🔧 Revive Your Stanley Proto J6014RK Torque Wrench with the 1/2" Drive Ratchet Head Repair Kit Review

This is the second set I have purchased because the first set chipped a tooth in the first week of my restoration. Now I'm just watching the ratchet so I don't have to fix it again.

Bought based on the picture and the good price. I couldn't match my model number so wasn't sure if it would fit my old ratchet. All the details fit beautifully and they seem to be of good quality. I greased all the insides with grease and it works better than new.

I purchased the J6014RK to repair my Proto 6016-2 10-150 foot torque wrench. I used all the replacement parts included in the kit to fully restore the ratchet head. The supplied parts fit like original and work perfectly. This key was one of my favorites and I'm glad it's back.

This kit is terrible. Both dogs were for the same direction so I had to reuse one of the old dogs to complete the renovation. The overlay didn't fit due to poor finishing of the outer edge. I had to sand the top dots to fit. Finally, one of the two screws that came with it was too short, so I had to use one of the old ones again. I bought this kit last year and just installed it so I figured it was too long to return.

I like this because it's so much cheaper than a new torque wrench. I inherited a 150 ft/lb torque wrench. The directional stick didn't move and the head just turned. I opened it up and found that one pawl was broken, another was damaged, and a few teeth were missing from the gear. There is no marking on the wrench other than the ft/lb numbers engraved on the handle. I have no idea what brand or model number it is but the dogs in the picture of this product looked pretty good so I gave it a try.
