Good quality band but I thought it was stainless steel.

Good quality tape but I thought it was stainless steel or some other metal but it's plastic. There is too much information above as the measurement is in centimeters and below is in inches. So if you use inches (like me) you only need to use one side of the ribbon!

Fiction! - Tape Measures

Judging by the sound of newbies saying it was "too hard to read with all the numbers and stuff" above, this just goes to prove the carpenters' motto true is; "Do your best and caulk the rest!" Don't listen to her. This is a great tape measure when you need imperial and metric units in your daily work. I do and I love it. You know it's on your hip, and if not, without feeling it. She's a big, ugly girl, but she's strong and will always be there for you!

Because the tape measure has both metric and standard scales it is difficult to use for most measuring tasks compared to other tape measures. In my opinion a tape measure would be much better if it had measurements on both sides of the tape. A really big front hook can be both good and bad.
