They work with reservations

They need sealant to work properly. The first possibility I had to apply was that I had lost too much sealant for them to fully work. I got back to the start of the trail but had to stop 4 or 5 times to inflate a tire. That got me home, but it never completely sealed the tire. I'm not sure they work better than bacon strips. Carrying around a small bottle of sealant might be an idea.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Some problems

One worked well for tire repair kits

Not impressed. I only have one dart that works. After a few setbacks, I asked my bike mechanic to show me his technique. The same, the dart came loose in the tire, leaving the puncture unchanged. Since an arrow worked, I'm willing to say it might be technical. However, I don't want to be stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire and have to rely on these things.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Very uncomfortable. I tried 5 times - the cork floor. 5 times the material is not fixed and stays in the hole. Edit/Update: From the materials posted on their website and review pages, the tip has been significantly modified without the locking hook (see image) so that the material cannot penetrate. This is a huge problem/miss. You can see that the number of bad reviews on different sites has really increased lately.

Need a redesign and a smaller puncture option.

Worked once and failed 5 times. You feel like an idiot putting so much time into getting them working. Just won't work on MTB tires with small punctures that the sealant won't fill on their own. Worked great with the big hole but the sealing webbing rips off the smaller holes leaving plastic spikes rattling in the tire and the noise is driving me crazy because bike noise = power loss in the biker's head. Save a few strips of bacon for small holes, or go wild and poke with an Allen wrench firstโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Almost never

It's great when they work

According to the marketing, if Stan only worked a little, it wouldn't be necessary. I had tiny holes from fresh, well-shaken caulk that wouldn't seal. Okay, enough about the sealant and the dart. Very convenient. Unlike bacon strips, this tool comes fully configured and ready to use. The hole does not need to be primed. Open the tool and partially insert it into the hole. Pull out the stem. Ready. If there is enough sealant in the tire, it will harden on the "springs" and you'll be ready toโ€ฆ
