Stant 10506 Automotive Accessories Review

I bought this cover for my GMC Sonoma. When I first had trouble unlocking it, I didn't think much (human error). It's been a few weeks now and I can't unlock it. My neighbor even tried it. As soon as I take it off, it becomes garbage!

I hate this thing. But magically my gas mileage almost doubled after using it. Either the gas cap or sticking razor blades on my old one which I forget and end up cutting myself not the thief. It hurts to use the key to lose weight, but still. better than the other idea.

Bought for my 2002 Saturn L300. It fits but doesn't unlock regularly and we can't take the cap off to fill the tank. The key is very unpredictable and will not turn or open. Although I didn't install it right after it arrived, obviously there wasn't time to return it, so I just lost $12 on a piece of junk.

I read a review that said they can remove the cap without a key by applying side pressure while turning. I also experienced the same thing BEFORE I pushed/released when unscrewing the cap instead of just slipping it over the filler neck and unscrewing it. With this method it works correctly. This cover was used on the Chevrolet Cavalier '00.

My old fuel cap caused me problems, it wouldn't close at all and the check engine light came on in my car. Bought from the Autozone-Duralast brand and it was a piece of junk. Didn't even complete it! The other two cars have Stant gas caps installed and never had a problem with them. Should have bought from the start! After installation the check engine light went out. Would definitely buy again if buying another car.

1. This cap immediately caused a code P0442 (small leak) and the check engine light came on on my 2003 Chevy S10. 2. The size of this cap is not suitable for the S-10, it stands so high that the throttle flap does not close properly without hitting the cap. There is a 3/8 inch gap. 3. The seller must know the product well enough to answer buyers' questions, not just "don't know" or "check the website". I want to return this piece of shit with a broken gas cap.

I thought I had a lot and everything on this gas cap considering it's only a third of the price of a trip to O'Reilly. Unfortunately. literally a day after the return window closes my check engine light comes on and goes dim and lo and behold it's a faulty gas cap again. So I went to O'Reilly, spent more money on a real gas cap, and the check engine light magically disappeared. Stay away from that cheap gas cap unless you're out of cash.
