Misleading photo - spare parts

You do not understand what is being described. You will receive the thermostat without the rubber O-ring, not the one in the photo. You can buy this cheaper from other sellers who state that the o-ring has to be bought separately.

Pros
  • The best in their niche
Cons
  • So far so good

This thermostat was advertised to work with my '04 Mini.

This thermostat that claims to work with my 04 Mini Cooper S is not the right one. There should be 3 mounting notches around the perimeter of the thermostat to properly fit into the correct gasket/seal. There are no such notches on this thermostat. i give it back

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • There are some nuances

NOT SUITABLE FOR MINI COOPER! OEM Mini Thermostat

NOT FIT FOR MINI COOPER! The OEM mini thermostat has three grooves along the edge that allow it to fit properly in the gasket. This block does not have these slots and therefore will not match the gasket. I disassembled everything and had to put the old thermostat back in place (with a new gasket).

Pros
  • Excellent Performance

Out of Spec: Thermostats

I thought my old thermostat opened too quickly as my 1997 Neon was taking too long to warm up the interior. I installed this one and while it can heat up a little quicker, it never heats up like my old one did. This is supposed to be a winter thermostat at 195F, but it peaks (after ten minutes of driving) at 178F. I have a Scangauge 2, so I get very accurate temperature readings. On a warm morning I reached 184F after a 20 minute drive. Disappointing! But he approached and entered easily.

Pros
  • Handy Stuff
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price

I had a problem with my 2000 Neon overheating at idle. After some research I narrowed it down to a probably faulty thermostat. I was able to trade this one in for my old one and it was an exact match. The whole repair took 10 minutes. The car started fine and I let it idle for a good 30 minutes and the temp gauge never got too high. I've also noticed that the fan turns off normally. This part did exactly what it was supposed to do and there were no issues, I am very happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Very Good Price
Cons
  • Useless Features

Fits perfectly. - Engine Cooling and Climate Control

The only downside was that the old thermostats I saw and replaced had gaskets that lay between the thermostat housing and the engine. Newer ones like these now have a rubberized ring that wraps around the widest part of the thermostat and fits into the thermostat housing, eliminating the need for a gasket. Unfortunately the ring on the thermostat that I replaced is worn and unusable and the new ring was not included with this purchase. A bit of a disappointment and irritation when I had to go…

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Concise Instructions
